   We are just completing a log home complex that had to reflect individuality and we have a number of, what has been referred to a "Floor Art". in the form of custom area rugs and carpets.

   These art pieces were designed and constructed by Shirley Sartell, an artisan from Silverton, Oregon and owner of SK Sartell. SK as she is known, worked with us for a period spanning more than a year and not only produced beautiful floor coverings, but had many design inputs on color and style of our log home as well.

   An extremely creative person, SK has a wide range of talents and had we found her sooner, we would have used more of them.

   We highly recommend SK, with all her skills and her modest attitude, to any party that is looking for the highest level of quality and a high level of individuality in their home or office."

  SK... has the innate ability to not only hear a client's words, but also understand and translate into artwork the personal feelings that represent the heart of the way we want to live.  SK is an artist who creates in various media so that the textures, colors, and representations of our dreams become a reality that can be used in everyday living in our homes.    "Shirley is amazing!  I outlined for her my vision of an impressionistic cityscape for my office in the Pearl District. She was able to take that concept, and, while I was out of town on a short business trip, she created a work of art that both surprises and delights the viewer.  I've personally shown this mural to hundreds of people, and it has never failed to awe and inspire.

   Although I'm the CEO, I don't have the largest office in the company because I absolutely refuse to give up this inviting oasis in the middle of the busy city."

  "Our project with Shirley is a Barn.. for people, not animals. For years, we envisioned it as a retreat separate from our home... An inviting place for a wide range of activities. Space utilization was important, yet we wanted it to feel warm and whimsical.

   Coming into the design work we had specific ideas concerning details and influences (i.e. Carl Larsson, Swedish artist of the 1800's.), especially his passion for boldness of color. Shirley was the amazing catalyst for taking our ideas and running with them. What we most appreciated was this participatory element. No part was drudgery or agonizing in decision.
