By Sharron Mills-Green SILVERTON- The Oregon Garden used the Silverton home and studio of internationally known artist SK Sartell to introduce the artist's myriad of talents to a group of specially invited guests Friday. Oregon Garden Executive Director Rick Gustafson looks for local and Northwest talent to feature in the various Garden venues, and Sartell is enthusiastic about a joint effort with the Gardens. A new building to be sited at The Oregon Garden has been designed by Alan E. Costic, architect for the firm Arbuckle Costic Architect Inc. It will

house the store and food area for the Garden. The current store area of pavilion will be renovated into the Oregon State University Conference Room. The artistic talents and design capabilities of Sartell have been sought to make the new conference room a Northwest treasure. Sartell is widely known for her sculpted carpets as well as interior design, painting and garden murals. By coming to her home and studio, including Garden representatives and supporters, were able to view her work in coloring, staining and design in concrete. and imaginative use of construction materials are featured throughout the home and studio. Silver Spoon Catering served a luncheon to guests.
