When I couldn't find a half round door for what I felt was a reasonable price, I decided to try my hand at building a one. There are building codes that have to be adhered to and they needed to be researched before I could proceed.  I built the door out of 2"x6" tongue and groove Knotty pine.  When the door turned out well, I used the same techniques to build my dining room tables.

The entry floor is multi colored slate. And the stair treads are knotty pine.

The saying over the front door reflects the home's feeling.  

"Enter as Friends,
Depart as Family."
